located on a demonstration farm in North Fort Myers, FL. They have
been assisting a global network of missionaries and development
workers since 1981 and are currently serving agricultural workers
in 180 countries.
ECHO exists
to help those working internationally with the poor be more
effective, especially in the area of agriculture! They are a
technical support organization helping community development
organizations and workers do what they do..
. . .
better!
They do this through education and training, problem solving, and
networking.
ECHO's mission . . . is "to network
with community leaders in developing countries to seek hunger
solutions for families growing food under difficult conditions."
Dr. Martin Price, ECHO's past Executive Director, was raised in the
Deerfield Presbyterian Church congregation. We are very
proud of the accomplishments that he has made in fighting world
hunger! |

Heifer International |
|
Heifer International,
working in partnership with others, alleviates hunger, poverty and
environmental degradation by helping families become
self-sufficient for good and income. Since it began in 1944,
Heifer has provided animals, training and technical assistance to
more than 4 million low-income families in more than 125
countries. Heifer
provides more than 25 different kinds of food- and
income-producing animals, as well as intensive training in animal
husbandry, community development and ecologically-sound,
sustainable methods for agriculture.
Heifer enables
recipients to "pass on the gift" to others in their community in a
way that enhances dignity and offers everyone the opportunity to
make a difference in the struggle against hunger.
